Mixed modular teaching system

At Universidad Xochicalco we use a mixed modular teaching system that facilitates an early introduction to clinical medicine. Community fieldwork and research will grant you invaluable experience and strengthen your comprehensive training. You'll engage in scientific evidence-based medicine, ensuring best practices.

COMAEM

Our Medical School is accredited by COMAEM, the Mexican Council for the Accreditation of Medical Education. Additionally, it is included in the World Directory of Medical Schools published by the World Health Organization and listed in the International Directory of Medical Education.

First level

The structure, function, and diagnostic methods relating to organs and systems, as well as the pathogens that most commonly impact health. The principles of medical and surgical therapy and the bio-psycho-social mechanisms that influence the state of health or disease. >The process of establishing presumptive morphological, functional, and syndromic diagnoses, as well as community health diagnoses.

Second level

The ability to identify the clinical manifestations of the most common pathologies and their differential diagnoses, with the support of the paraclinical tests necessary to confirm diagnoses and of the specific foundations needed to establish comprehensive therapeutic plans. Creating a therapeutic plan, triaging the most frequent medical-surgical emergencies, applying the scientific method in clinical research and other skills and abilities leading to expertise in the management of the medical history. 

Undergraduate Internship

Consolidated knowledge of the clinical manifestations of the most common pathologies and their differential diagnoses in core specialties, as well as the paraclinical exams required for diagnostic confirmation, medical-surgical therapeutics, patient and healthcare personnel safety; and familiarity with health programs across hospital and Family Medicine contexts.
